Every May the Port of Hamburg celebrates its anniversary with a three day bash featuring the ballet of the lighters, a windjammer parade, fireworks and hundreds of booths.
And what European City is graced by a lovely midtown lake Alster?
Hamburg offers a beautiful City Hall, the famous Reeperbahn and beautiful surroundings with medeval cities and typical northern German country sites. We have sporting events, several museums and other cultural programs visitors can enjoy year around.
About the exchanges:
Our purpose is to uphold the intent of the Friendship Force philosophy of making friends around the world, and we believe this club has made this happen.
We have many places to take our incoming Ambassadors:
City Hall, Harbor, 19th century mercantile and warehouse buildings, old Hamburg. We are also proud of picturesque neighbored towns like Luebeck, Lueneburg and Stade, which show the old Germany of the 16th century.
We arrange welcome and farewell parties and we provide day hosts and free days for more individual entertainment.
The main emphasis is for the hostfamily to make friends with the Ambassadors. And in the personal atmosphere our guests have the opportunity to meet other people and see other homes or have smaller excursions with their hosts.
